The Speak feature isn’t picking up my voice.
Make sure microphone permission is granted (Settings → Bookverse → Microphone). On Android, the system speech service varies by phone — if you’re on a phone without Google services, Bookverse falls back to a cloud transcription service automatically. A short pause after speaking auto-stops the recording.
The Listen feature has a delay before it plays.
Bookverse uses your phone’s system text-to-speech engine. On first use, the engine often takes 1–2 seconds to initialise. After the first call, it should be near-instant. If it stays slow, try changing the system TTS engine in your phone’s Settings → Languages & input → Text-to-speech.
Can I use Bookverse without an account?
Not currently — your progress is tied to an account so it can sync between web and mobile.
How do I delete my account?
Email hi@heyedd.com from your registered address and we’ll remove the account within a few days. An in-app delete option is on the way.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open the Billing screen in the app and tap Manage Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Is my audio stored on your servers?
No. Audio sent for pronunciation feedback is forwarded to a transcription provider, the transcript is returned, and the audio is discarded. See the privacy policy for details.
