Ch2 学了名词 / 动词 / 形容词性短语. 本课加上几个常用类型: (1) "不一会儿" (二41) — 时间短语, 表示"过了一段时间, 不久". 例: 不一会儿, 他就来了. (2) "什么的" (二42) — 列举短语, 像英语 "and so on / etc.". 例: 我喜欢看书, 听音乐什么的. (3) 形容词性短语扩展: 不太 X / 非常 X / 真 X — "我看得不太对", "你说得真好". 这些短语虽然简单, 但是组合起来才是真正的中文.
Ch2 introduced noun, verb, and adjective phrases. This chapter adds: (1) "不一会儿" (一会儿 in negative form) — a time phrase meaning "before long / shortly." Example: 不一会儿他就来了 ("Before long, he arrived"). (2) "什么的" — listing phrase, like English "and so on / etc." Example: 我喜欢看书, 听音乐什么的 ("I like reading, listening to music, etc."). (3) Adjective-phrase expansions: 不太 X / 非常 X / 真 X — modifiers stacked. These small phrases are the building blocks of natural-sounding Chinese.

- 我有一个想法, 我看不对. Wǒ yǒu yí ge xiǎngfǎ, wǒ kàn bú duì. I have an idea — I think it's not right.
- 我喜欢看书, 听音乐什么的. Wǒ xǐhuan kàn shū, tīng yīnyuè shénme de. I like reading, listening to music, and so on.
- 不一会儿, 谢平就来了. Bù yíhuìr, Xiè Píng jiù lái le. Before long, Xie Ping arrived.
