English · CEFR Band 1 (A1) · Chapter 18

My day Hari saya

Rutinitas harian, memakai present simple. Untuk kebiasaan pakai kata kerja dasar: I get up, you work, we study. TAPI untuk he / she / it harus tambah -s: he gets up, she works, it sleeps. -s persona ketiga ini mudah lupa. Untuk negatif dan pertanyaan pakai do / does: I don't sleep, Does she work? Kata baru: get up, go, eat, drink, work, study, sleep, always, yesterday. Sudut pengucapan: -s persona ketiga (tiga bunyi: /s/, /z/, /ɪz/) dan penyambungan "get up".

He get up or he gets up? — He get up atau he gets up?

  1. Emma Minsu, what time does your brother get up? Minsu, jam berapa kakakmu bangun?
  2. Minsu My brother get up at six. Kakak saya bangun jam enam. (slip: he/she perlu -s — "gets up")
  3. Emma With "he", add -s: he gets up. Dengan "he", tambah -s: he gets up.
  4. Minsu Oh, he gets up at six and I get up at seven. Oh, dia bangun jam enam dan saya bangun jam tujuh.

A normal day — Hari Biasa

  1. Jack Emma, do you get up early? Emma, kamu bangun pagi?
  2. Emma Yes, I get up at six. My sister gets up at eight. Ya, saya bangun jam enam. Kakak saya bangun jam delapan.

Present simple: he / she + -s Present simple: he / she + -s

For daily habits, English uses the present simple. With I / you / we / they you use the base verb: I get up, they work, we study. BUT with he / she / it you MUST add -s: he gets up, she works, it sleeps. Forgetting this -s is the most common mistake for many learners. For negatives and questions, use do (I/you/we/they) or does (he/she/it), and the main verb goes back to the base: I don't sleep in the afternoon, Does she work on Monday? (not "Does she works"). Note irregular: go → goes.

Untuk kebiasaan harian, bahasa Inggris memakai present simple. Dengan I / you / we / they pakai kata kerja dasar: I get up, they work, we study. TAPI dengan he / she / it HARUS tambah -s: he gets up, she works, it sleeps. Melupakan -s ini adalah kesalahan paling umum banyak pelajar. Untuk negatif dan pertanyaan, pakai do (I/you/we/they) atau does (he/she/it), dan kata kerja utama kembali ke dasar: I don't sleep in the afternoon, Does she work on Monday? (bukan "Does she works"). Tak beraturan: go → goes.

  • I get up at seven, and she gets up at eight. Saya bangun jam tujuh, dan dia bangun jam delapan.
  • He always eats breakfast in the morning. Dia selalu sarapan pada pagi hari.
  • I work in the morning and study in the evening. Saya bekerja pagi dan belajar malam.
  • Does she work on Monday? — No, she doesn't. Apakah dia bekerja hari Senin? — Tidak.
