한국어의 형용사(맛있다, 맛없다, 배고프다)는 영어와 달리 "이다(be)"가 필요 없어요. 동사처럼 "-아/어요"로 활용해요: 맛있다 → 맛있어요, 맛없다 → 맛없어요. "맛있어요"가 이미 "is delicious"라는 뜻이에요. 그래서 명사에 붙이는 "이에요"를 형용사에 붙이면 안 돼요 — "맛있이에요" ✗. 배가 고프거나 부를 때: 배고프다는 ㅡ가 빠져 "배고파요", 배부르다는 "배불러요"가 돼요. 예: 김치가 맛있어요. 저는 배고파요.
Os adjetivos coreanos (맛있다, 맛없다, 배고프다) NÃO precisam de um "ser/estar" separado, ao contrário do inglês. Conjugam-se como verbos com "-아/어요": 맛있다 → 맛있어요, 맛없다 → 맛없어요. "맛있어요" já significa "está delicioso". Por isso não acrescentes a cópula nominal "이에요" a um adjetivo — "맛있이에요" ✗. Ao ter fome ou estar cheio: 배고프다 perde ㅡ e fica "배고파요", e 배부르다 fica "배불러요". Ex. 김치가 맛있어요. 저는 배고파요.

Na Coreia, partilhar uma refeição não é só encher o estômago. Quando pegas na colher, quem come primeiro, quem paga — cada pequena cortesia carrega respeito pela idade e pelas relações.
Colher e pauzinhos
A Korean table sets out a spoon and chopsticks together. Rice and soup are eaten with the spoon, side dishes with the chopsticks. Unlike China or Japan, it is polite to leave the rice bowl on the table rather than lifting it. And never stand your chopsticks upright in the rice — it recalls funeral rites.
Os mais velhos primeiro, com as duas mãos
The meal begins after the oldest person at the table picks up their spoon. You do not start before your elders. And when an elder pours you water or a drink, receive the cup with two hands; when you pour for an elder, hold the bottle with two hands too. Two hands is a sign of respect.
Quem paga?
In Korea, one person often pays for the whole meal rather than splitting the bill. Usually the older person or the one who invited pays. Next time, the other treats you to coffee or the next meal, so it goes back and forth. Two people insisting "I'll pay!" is a very common, warm-hearted sight.
