이 사람은 누구예요? Who is this person?
Point at people and things with 이·그·저 (이 = near me, 그 = near you or already mentioned, 저 = far from both). The pointing word comes before the noun: 이 사람, 그 친구, 저 분. Ask "누구예요?" with 누구 (who), and learn grandparents (할아버지·할머니), 보다·가다·오다, and 사진·곳. Note 저 is also "I (humble)" — context tells them apart.

이 / 그 / 저 + 명사 Demonstratives 이 / 그 / 저 + noun
이·그·저는 가리키는 말이고, 명사 앞에 옵니다. 이 = 말하는 사람 가까이, 그 = 듣는 사람 가까이 또는 이미 말한 것, 저 = 둘 다에게서 먼 것. 사람을 높일 때는 사람 대신 분을 써요: 저 분.
이·그·저 are pointing words and come before a noun. 이 = near the speaker, 그 = near the listener or already mentioned, 저 = far from both. To be polite about a person, use 분 instead of 사람: 저 분 (that person, honorific).
- 이 사람은 누구예요? I sarameun nuguyeyo? Who is this person?
- 그 친구는 학생이에요. Geu chinguneun haksaeng-ieyo. That friend (of yours) is a student.
- 저 분은 우리 선생님이에요. Jeo buneun uri seonsaengnim-ieyo. That person over there is our teacher.

누구 · 저의 두 가지 뜻 누구 (who) · the two meanings of 저
누구는 모르는 사람을 대신하는 의문사예요 — 어순은 그대로, 모르는 자리에 누구를 넣습니다: "이 사람은 누구예요?". 한 가지 주의: 저는 두 가지 뜻이 있어요 — "나(겸손)"(3과)와 "저(먼 것)"(이 과). 문맥과 뒤따르는 명사로 구별돼요: 저는 = "나는", 저 사람 = "저기 저 사람".
누구 is the question word for an unknown person — word order stays the same; put 누구 where the unknown is: "이 사람은 누구예요?". One caution: 저 has two meanings — "I (humble)" (ch3) and "that one over there" (this chapter). Context and a following noun tell them apart: 저는 = "as for me", 저 사람 = "that person over there".
- 저 사람은 누구예요? Jeo sarameun nuguyeyo? Who is that person over there?
- 저는 학생이에요. Jeoneun haksaeng-ieyo. I am a student. (저 = I)
