Gute Nachricht: Nach sein (ist, sind) bleibt das Adjektiv UNVERÄNDERT — keine Endung, kein Geschlecht, kein Plural. „Die Familie ist groß." „Das Haus ist klein." „Meine Eltern sind nett." Egal ob maskulin, feminin, neutrum oder Plural — das Adjektiv ändert sich nicht. Das ist viel einfacher als im Französischen oder Spanischen. (Die Endungen VOR dem Nomen — „ein großer Mann" — sind komplizierter und kommen erst in Buch 2.) Genieße fürs Erste die einfache Form mit ist und sind.

Culture
Ordnung Ordnung — el orden en la vida diaria
"Ordnung muss sein" — tiene que haber orden. Un sentido de la estructura, las reglas y la pulcritud recorre la vida diaria alemana.

Crossing on a red pedestrian light — even with no cars — is frowned upon, especially with children around. Following the rule is courtesy, not just obedience. The same with waste: it is carefully separated — paper, packaging, glass (by colour), organic, deposit bottles (Pfand).
Horas de silencio
Sundays and evenings are quiet hours (Ruhezeit): no loud noise, no drilling, no mowing the lawn. And on Sundays most shops close entirely — plan your shopping for Saturday.
Privado, pero directo
Home and personal space are private. In conversation, though, Germans are direct: a clear yes or no, honest opinions, less small talk. This is not rudeness but respect for clarity (more on this in ch15).
Regla práctica: sigue las reglas indicadas, separa tu basura, baja el ruido los domingos y las tardes, y no te tomes la franqueza como algo personal.
