Это моя семья This is my family
The possessive pronouns мой/моя/моё (my) and твой/твоя (your), and the demonstrative этот/эта/это (this). They agree in GENDER with the thing possessed: мой брат (m), моя сестра (f), моё имя (n). And again no verb "to be": "Это моя семья" — no "is". New words: family, father, mother, dad, mom, child, house, big (review). Reading: семья́, оте́ц, ма́ма with vowel reduction; the soft sign ь in мать.

- Mike Мой мама большая семья? My mom big family? (slip: мой, мама is feminine → моя; and an inserted-copula muddle)

Grammar
Притяжательные мой/моя/моё + этот Possessives мой/моя/моё + этот
Притяжательные местоимения мой и твой согласуются по РОДУ с предметом, а не с владельцем: мой брат (м), моя сестра (ж), моё имя (ср). Это похоже на этот/эта/это: этот дом (м), эта семья (ж), это имя (ср). Английское «my» не меняется — поэтому здесь легко ошибиться: помните род существительного. И как всегда: в настоящем времени нет «быть» — «Это моя семья», без is.
